Care & First Use
Before using your Motta serving tray for the first time, wash it thoroughly with warm water and a mild dish soap to remove any residual polishing compound from the manufacturing process.
If You Notice a Black or Gray Residue
A small amount of dark residue may appear during the initial cleaning. This is not rust or a defect—it is simply a harmless polishing residue left from the manufacturing and finishing process.
To remove it:
- Wash the tray with hot water and a grease-cutting dish soap.
- Wipe the entire surface with a soft sponge or microfiber cloth.
- Rinse thoroughly and dry immediately.
- If any residue remains, gently clean with a paste made from baking soda and water, then rinse and dry.
For stubborn polishing residue, use a non-abrasive stainless steel cleaner, such as Bar Keepers Friend Soft Cleanser or Bar Keepers Friend Cookware Cleanser, following the manufacturer's directions.
